Volunteer Roles

Upon Arrival

  • Sign in [print] on the sign-in sheets for that day [in the binder]
  • Be ready for your scheduled start time
  • Read any notices that may be posted

During the Bingo Session

Customer Service

  • Help new players the best you can & get staff involved if needed
  • Answer questions, know where the washrooms, bank machines, PlaySmart, and cash counters are located.
  • Be a friendly, smiling face

Keep Environment Clean

  • Dispose of used bingo paper/product [make sure you check with the customer if you are not sure what is used]
  • Clean tables of used cups, plates, etc. (do not touch alcohol bottles or glasses, empty or full)
  • Take trays back to the kitchen area [there will be a cart by the ATM to put them on]
  • Assist with promotions, if asked

After Bingo Ends

  • Clean tables  so they are ready for the next session [NOTE: do not throw anything out if you are not sure, as some customers stay for another session]. Staff members also help with cleaning tables
  • There is a spray bottle on top of the cupboard and a cloth to wipe the tables down
  • Make sure the hall looks clean and tidy for the next session (follow posted end of session cleaning instructions on bulletin board)

When There is No Bingo

Customer Support

When there is a flow of customers coming and going [generally before and after bingo sessions] greet & welcome them as they arrive

  • You can open doors for them
  • Welcome them
  • Thank them for coming
  • Assist new players, if you can’t answer their questions, get a staff member to do so
  • Circulate throughout the tap tix area, but do not disturb the players
  • Smile and help in any way you can

Promote Your Charity

  • Make sure your logoed shirt/vest and name tag can be seen
  • If asked, be ready to provide information on how your organization uses your cGaming funds

Other Helpful Roles

  • If asked, hand out ballots, assist with draws (may happen occasionally)
  • Help customers, if they request assistance, with gaming products, or any other task (you can not PLAY gaming products for a customer, ever!)

Other Roles/Restrictions

  • Volunteers MUST be 18 years of age
  • No purchasing of gaming products while on duty (never in logo charity wear)
  • Please stay focused & pay attention to customers & callers during the bingo
  • Volunteers must ensure they are not disrupting the player experience

Staff Member Dont's

  • No delivery of food to customers
  • No calling back bingos
  • No handling of any money for winners
  • If several hands are up when staff are selling cards – do not run to a staff member & tell them – they will get to that customer
  • At the end of the late session (if there is one), do not attempt to hep the staff carry out the garbage bags
