Under the guidance of the Ontario Charitable Gaming Association (OCGA), the STGA includes charity/not for profit groups from all over Elgin County and area. Currently consisting of 90 charities, who participate in the OLG Charitable Gaming (cGaming) program at Jackpot Time in St Thomas. Each customer of Jackpot Time can proudly declare they are making a difference, as 24.18% of each dollar spent is distributed equally among the participating charities.
cGaming requires them to provide volunteers who act as greeters and customer service reps for Jackpot Time Gaming Centre; in return they earn shares of the monthly profits. Charities use these funds to better the lives of everyone in our community under the direction of the city of St Thomas, who administrates the permits required to participate in the program. Local charity/not for profit groups interested in joining should contact the charity coordinator for requirements and expected opportunities (contact info below).
Since its inception in 2013, over $18,000,000 has been distributed into the local community through cGaming. These funds are then used for programs assisting our community with issues like food insecurity, animal welfare, mental health & grieving, housing stability, health and safety, fire prevention, emergency medical care, historical preservation, mentorship and more. Funds are also used for kid’s activities, senior’s programs, educational programs and training, community events, green space, and so much more. Charitable gaming does touch each member of our community and makes a real difference in the lives of so many of our residents.
Good times for players, good things for our community.
